In response to the Covid pandemic and in partnership with CNTW NHS Trust, The Yoga Clinic (UK) will be offering a specialist trauma service for CNTW staff.

These sessions are suitable for those of you struggling with:

  • insomnia

  • anxiety, agitation & fatigue

  • depression & dissociation

  • poor digestion & appetite

  • intrusive and distressing thoughts

  • self-harming, addictive or compulsive behaviors

  • feelings of failure, helplessness, shame & guilt

The impact of covid

Many of us misinterpret these experiences as signs of individual weakness. This might be especially true for front line service providers and those in roles of leadership. However, these distressing ‘symptoms’ are entirely predictable signs of a nervous system trying to manage unmanageable stress.

support is available

None of us can erase the past 2 years. Nor can we provide certainty and security about the future. However there are now a wealth of specialist trauma services and practices that will help support our systems If you’re curious about what help is available, please reach out to the Staff Wellbeing Hub. You’ll have an opportunity to talk to a clinician and, between you, decide on what services might be most suitable, including the Yoga on Prescription service.

Yoga on prescription

Our time together will include opportunities to understand why your body & mind are responding as they are. This might reassure you that your experiences are both normal and likely to

  • explore various body and breath based practices to support your sense of safety, dignity and connectedness

Please be reassured that these sessions are not for accomplished yoga practitioners. Instead they are better thought of as a specialist trauma treatment combining body psychotherapy and psychoeducation.

  • no special clothes or equipment needed

  • suitable for all levels of flexibility, strength etc.

  • 1-1 sessions

  • offered using Zoom

  • can be done in any space where you won’t be disturbed

How to Register

Please reach out to the CNTW Staff Wellbeing Trust.
